Best way to drive up temperature quickley

Is there a preferred way to drive up temperature should you want to take up temperature if changing say from 240 to 300 plus in order to go from say pork to chicken in an ongoing cook.

Press and hold the prime button for ~30 seconds. You'll get a feel for how long you need to hold to raise a certain amount of temp but I'd start with 30secs... I think that's what the manual says.
Holding that button overrides the system and just feeds pellets blindly as I understand it... Should work fine. I use it frequently when direct grilling.

Also use an insulated cover so you're not fighting mother nature... Even if it's 100F ambient temp where you are, that's mighty cold to a 300F piece of metal...especially if there's a breeze...
