I have had my new ys640 for about a week and learning more every time I use it. 1st when I start it up I just turn it on and then push start, when it gets to 350 it goes into maintance mode but temp will keep rising to around 400 on controller. Then after about 30 mins it will start working its way down. Is that normal? Was worried about leaving my lid on 2 piece defuser in with it doing that. 2nd when cooking hamburgers and vegetables, can I just leave defuser lid on plate and use grill plates for burgers and put vegetables on other side at 400. I also vacuum it out before each cook. Thanks

Yes that is normal start up. You always give it 30 min to get ready to cook. You will have no issues with your 2 piece plate. I leave mine in all the time and cook on the grates.
