I am a very lucky man, for Christmas my lovely wife bought me a YS640! I am interested in a probe port for my smoker. After watching your how-to video on youtube, it looks like it is a stainless steel cord grip. I'm assuming it still has a rubber insert to grip the probes. Is that all the probe port is? If so can an aluminum cord grip be used? Thanks in advance. AND WE LOVE THE YS640!!!!

Sure, but you should get one with a high temp gasket in it. I looked around on McMaster Carr, couldn't find one for 500f rated.

But I used this instead. Just drilled a hole and the grommet works just fine. Cheap too. I can PM you the info, can't post links outside of this place.
