New 640 with comp cart and front and side shelves just arrived.
First burn coming soon.
First question, and if I missed this answer, please let me know, does anybody have any good ideas to store the front and side shelves when they are not on the smoker?
Thinking some sort of modded brackets on the back of the cart.
Any suggestions?

To be honest, I just leave them on all the time. Never take them off.

Same here. I have the ys640 with competition cart and never take my ss shelves off. I have however wondered about a rack for the grates/grill grates/ and second shelf as I do spend some time trying to figure out what to do when not using some of the accessories.
Between that and the thought that I wish there was an easier way to clean the pit without removing all of the grates (slide out ash tray) the ease of use is a no brainer. And yes I do realize that being nearly air tight would be the trade off.

I roll my 640 into a small space in my garage when not in use, so the front rack comes off. I just lean it up against the wall next to the smoker.
