My YS480 has software version R32. Is it worth upgrading?

The short answer is yes. There is also a fan diffuser update that was released. Send your request to [email protected], and include the serial number and build date from the door plate of your cooker.

How is the software update? Not a tech guy but if the one I'm buying later today needs updated, How do I do it?
Thank you. Next question. The "programer"...is this something that comes with the unit and should be with this used one? Or is this something that has to be purchased when there is an update?

You need to send an email to [email protected] to request a loaner programmer, which needs to be returned.
The YS480 you are looking at should have all of the required updates and have R34 firmware, which is the most current for the date of manufacturer that you listed.
Mine does have R34 btw....Did some ribs last night (had to rush them, so they were decent but not great...my fault). Doing some chicken breast right now.
