Shutting unit down

I have had my YS640 for a few months now. There are no issues with the unit and I have done quite a few cooks on it so far. I do have one questions concerning the shutdown procedure. The last step in the procedure after the unit has went through its automatic shutdown procedure is to disconnect the Yoder from its power source. My question is why does the Yoder need to be disconnected from the power source?

Safety, per the manual, and to hard reset the controller.
