Yoder Smokers Community Forum

I have an older model YS640 that has the thermocoupler on the back wall. I am hoping to get enough support from others with the same situation to get Yoder to make a way for us to move the thermocoupler to the side wall and bring our smokers up to date including updating the firmware. This will obvisouly involve welding a mount for the relocated thermocoupler so his kit would be limited to those with the ability to do this.

I'd like to know if there are any advantages to buying a kit with new parts etc. Does it increase the temp control ability? And that bracket could be easily pop riveted to the wall.

I am also interested, if it makes a difference.
