After successfully smoking a 17 pound turkey the day before Thanksgiving, I fired up my YS640 on Thanksgiving day to make several side dishes, and after a brief power up to about 140 degrees I noticed the auger stopped feeding the pot. I removed all pellets and could not detect a jam. Tried it again and observed that the auger still does not operate.
What are the best troubleshooting techniques for this issue? I pulled the hopper side panel off and all connections are fine. I’m hoping that I do not have to pull the auger. Are there other things I should do before removing the two allen screws in order to pull the auger? If I do pull the auger I assume it’s only to detect a jam, or is there something else I should do to it or with it once pulled?
The is the first and only “breakdown” I’ve experienced since the smoker’s purchase over a year ago. Bad day for it to happen needless to say.
Advice is appreciated.
