Tips for securing the drip bucket?

I've got an uninvited guest at night that pulls my drip bucket down and makes a mess. I have a fenced in back yard and I think it is a possum.

I thought about zip tying the bucket to the downspout but I figure it can get pretty hot and would likely melt the zip tie.

Looking for tips from anyone who's had this (admittedly odd) issue.
