Storage bin on lower shelf of YS640s

Hi everyone,
Just wondering, since I'm not able to afford the new drawer accessory for the YS640s right now, has anyone ever place a storage bin on the bottom shelf of the regular, non-comp cart?
I was looking at a 14 gallon HDX bin from Home Depot to hold my griddle, smoking shelf and GrillGrates, etc.
But, my concern was whether there might be too much radiant heat from the bottom of the cooking chamber to make that a viable solution.
