Hi all,
I bought a YS480 in May of 2016. Great smoker! I upgraded the controller in February 2020 to the new ACS Fireboard controller. I'm currently seeing some temperature inaccuracies during cooks as compared to my Smoke thermometer. I'm getting temp differences of +/- 30°. I am thinking that I may need a new thermocouple in the grill box? The ATBBQ website show 2 different thermocouples, Type "J" or PT-1000. The order page says I must be running firmware 1.0.43 and my current version is 1.0.33. How do I upgrade firmware? Yoder tech says it's not a good idea to "push" me a firmware update.
I also want to try the new "Spark" wireless temperature probe but again, I need v1.0.43 or higher to use this device?
I turned on my smoker this morning (not cook) by tech supports advice to see if it will update on it's own. Is this my best option? Thanks in advance!
