I'm wondering if you're allowed to use any brand of pellets used for smoking on the Yoder pellet smokers. I know some pellet smokers only allow their own brand of pellets and will void the warranty if you use a different brand.
For example, could I use a bag of Traeger pellets in my YS640?
You are free to use whatever brand that you would like to. There are great disparities in pellet brands and flavors, so your smoker's performance will be directly affected by the pellets you use.
We suggest the BBQR's Delight brand of pellets, as we have found them to be the most consistent from bag to bag and pallet to pallet. The Yoder Smokers pellet cookers controller and programming are tested and calibrated using BBQR's Delight Hickory pellets at the factory.
