Yoder YS480/YS640 Heat Diffuser Plate Update Program (USA only)
Yoder Smokers recently changed the design of the heat diffuser plate for the YS480 and YS640. The new heat diffuser plate is reinforced to allow higher heat cooking without removing the diffuser (this is NOT the optional 2 piece diffuser). The new reinforced diffuser plate started shipping in all cookers January of 2016.
To allow all customers, with the original heat diffuser plate, to take advantage of this new reinforced heat diffuser plate, Yoder Smokers is offering an update for $29.95 for the YS640 and $26.95 for the YS480. This is a shipping and handling fee, and is only available directly from Yoder Smokers. (*Tax will apply to this transaction if you are in the state of Kansas*)
Here is how to qualify for the update:
1. Register your cooker using this link: http://www.yodersmokers.com/warranty-registration-form
2. Forward the verification email that you receive after registering, to [email protected] and request the reinforced heat diffuser update.
3. We will contact you for your payment information and process your order.
If you have already registered your cooker, follow these steps:
1. Send [email protected] a request for the new reinforced heat diffuser plate, and include your full name, zip code, serial number, and model.
2. We will verify the registration and call you for your payment information and process your order.
Is this program for the 2 piece difusser with the trap door? If not, is there a discount to get the 2 piece rather than a 1 piece?
This is not for the 2 piece. It is for the new reinforced standard heat diffuser. The 2 piece diffuser is not part of the update program.
What temp is this new diffuser rated for?
It as tested it at the highest heat the cooker is capable of producing. Is there a concern?

What about Canadians who live close to the border and the plate can be shipped to a USA address?
I do not believe that there is an issue at all with this, as long as it ships to an address in the US. Follow the directions, and when you are called for payment, make sure that the ship-to address is communicated.
I just received and used my 2 piece diffuser plate and in my opinion I would rather have that. My old diffuser plate was warping and with the option to get it replaced for $29 is great. But after using the 2 piece diffuser plate I would rather spend the money to buy it, it just makes it way to convenient in my opinion.
Is there a picture of the new one so I can see if it was included in the YS640 I bought in January? I bought it in Canada because it was the closest dealer to me.

Hey Herb...whats the expected time frame from when we completed the form to when the new diffuser should arrive? I sent in the information, but I have yet to receive a confirmation email to send to customer service. I was just curious. Thank you.

I have registered, ordered and paid for mine. I got the receipt but never got shipping information as to when it will be shipped.
I have paid on 02/25/2016. Do you know when mine will ship?

New YS640 owner here...my build date shows January 11, 2016....but I received the old diffuser plate. When you say manufactured January 2016, did you mean, AFTER the 11th?
